In this lesson you will learn the words for tableware and cutlery, find out how people eat in Spain, and master the formation and use of the Pretérito Indefinido.
About this lesson
In lesson 14 we will look at the vocabulary for tableware and cutlery – from plate and fork to sugar bowl and candlestick. We will immerse ourselves in Spanish food culture: a light breakfast, lunch between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., the siesta and dinner at around 10 p.m. The central grammar topic is the Pretérito Indefinido – the simple past (preterite) tense, its formation for regular and irregular verbs and its use with expressions such as «ayer», «el año pasado» and «hace tres días». We will practise everything through a real text about Spanish cuisine and a short biography of Picasso.
