Lesson 3 — Spanish B2

In this lesson we look at the verbs of perception (ver, mirar, oír, escuchar, oler, sonar, parecer, etc.), the three meanings of «parecer» and the expressions of cause in Spanish.

About this lesson

In lesson 26 we will get to know the verbs of perception in Spanish and their irregular forms in the Presente de Indicativo and the Presente de Subjuntivo. We will learn the important difference between «ver» and «mirar», as well as between «oír» and «escuchar» — two pairs of verbs that even advanced learners mix up. We will look at the three meanings of the verb «parecer» with plenty of examples from real dialogues. Finally, we will explore how to express cause in Spanish with expressions such as «como», «ya que», «puesto que», «por + infinitive», «a causa de», «debido a» and «es que».
