1. An offensive expression for someone or something worthy of contempt or unpleasant, and for something difficult.
2. With an expression of affection, for example 'you silly bugger'.
3. As an expression of dissatisfaction, annoyance, or surprise.
4. Exhausted. For example – 'I'm absolutely buggered'.
5. To thwart, complicate, or ruin completely. For example 'You've buggered that up'.
