About this lesson
In this lesson we will review the passé composé and learn how the imparfait is formed and used in French. We will understand when to use each of the two past tenses and how they work together in a single narrative. We will practice conjugating verbs in the imparfait from the first person plural of the present tense, and for the passé composé we will clarify when the auxiliary verb is avoir and when it is être. Through a variety of exercises we will master these structures in a natural context — descriptions of people, memories and everyday situations.
