A review and continuation of interrogative pronouns and adverbs in French — including simple and complex inversion with «pourquoi».
About this lesson
In Lesson 10 we will review and extend our knowledge of French interrogative pronouns and adverbs: qui, que, où, quand, comment, combien, pourquoi, quel and lequel. We will learn how to ask questions in three ways — with intonation, with «est-ce que» and with inversion. We will place special emphasis on the rule of obligatory complex inversion after «pourquoi» when the subject is a noun. We will practise with exercises taken directly from the course material to consolidate the correct formation of questions.
