In this lesson you will learn how to form and use the Past Perfect Continuous Tense in English. You will master the structure had + been + verb in the -ing form and practise applying it correctly to describe actions that were in progress up to a certain moment in the past. You will work with engaging texts — a story with a tractor and a ditch, and a touching story about a mother and daughter. Through practical examples you will understand the differences between the Past Perfect Continuous and the other past tenses.
