Learn when NOT to put a definite or indefinite article before nouns in English — with countries, languages, meals and fixed expressions, and in many other cases.
About this lesson
In this lesson you will learn when and why we do NOT use an article in English. You will understand the rules for leaving out the article with the names of countries, languages, meals, mountains and cities, and in fixed expressions. You will see how uncountable nouns and plural nouns used in a general sense take no article. You will consolidate what you have learned with practical examples from the text about William Peterson and a variety of exercises.
