From 13.04, a new module starts in our Online English Course (Business Plan) — Start Meaning Business. These business English classes are designed for users starting from a lower level. The course begins by reviewing basic concepts from Elementary A2 level, but after the first 5 lessons fully covers the grammar and vocabulary from Pre-Intermediate B1 level. The vocabulary is business-oriented, with a conversational focus. Each lesson includes listening exercises focused on business topics, as well as exercises developing skills for writing business letters, emails, and reports.
The course consists of 20 sessions over 10 weeks (attending twice a week from 19:00 to 21:15 or Monday and Wednesday — see the schedule). After completion, the course starts from the beginning.
Upon completing this course, you will be able to:
Listening comprehension — I understand the main ideas in everyday speech on familiar topics used in the workplace, at school, during leisure time, etc. I understand the main idea of radio or television programs on current topics, or questions of a personal or professional nature, when the speech is relatively slow and clear.
Reading comprehension — I understand texts that contain mainly everyday or work-related vocabulary. I understand wishes, feelings, and events in written text.
Speaking, oral communication — I cope with most situations that arise while traveling in a country where the language is spoken. Even without prior preparation, I engage in conversation on a familiar topic of a personal nature or related to everyday life (e.g., family, hobbies, work, travel, and current events).
Spontaneous speech — I describe my experience, dreams, hopes, and ambitions. I briefly state reasons and explain opinions and plans. I tell a story or convey the plot of a book or film; I describe my impressions.
Writing — I compose a coherent text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. I compose a simple letter that describes my personal experience or impressions.
