More than 5,000 employers are seeking to hire 20,000 students for internships through the 'Student Internships' website, developed jointly by Kabinata and Infosystems.
The site was created specifically to announce practical internships for all students in Bulgaria.
The project is financed with EU funds under the Operational Programme 'Human Resources Development' (OPHRД). It is implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science.
Its goal is to cover 60,000 students by next year. So far, 18,000 have applied, with every third one having been hired.
All students in Bulgaria have access to the 'Student Internships' website and the positions announced on it, and its services are free.
The majority of employers have announced 20-30 positions each, but some have offered 200–250.
The data was reported by the newspaper Monitor.
The 'Student Internships' site is part of the Electronic Campus (campus.egov.bg) project of the Ministry of Education and Science.
The main services on the portal campus.egov.bg are:
- Register of active and discontinued students and doctoral candidates
- Project 'Student Scholarships'
- Student Internships
- Ranking of higher education institutions
