Deborah Micheli is Italian, from Viareggio – a seaside resort town on the Versilia coast of Tuscany, also known as the birthplace of the actress Stefania Sandrelli, the singer Nada, the TV presenter Marco Columbro and the football coach Marcello Lippi. She lived in Bulgaria for ten years and has been back in Italy since May 2019, where she continues to teach. She has been teaching for almost thirty years, ten of them online. Conversation sits at the centre of her lessons – in her view it is the main pillar of learning a foreign language – and the atmosphere is relaxed, fun and informal, so that every student feels at ease. At Kabinata she taught online Italian lessons between 2019 and 2023 – more than seventy of them, with the maximum rating from her students. She works with every level, from complete beginners to advanced learners. As she says herself: “Ti aspetto in cabina!” – I'll be waiting for you in the cabin.
