In this introductory lesson you will learn how to introduce yourself and get to know people in German with expressions such as "Ich bin Maria" and "Wie heißt du?". You will get to know the German alphabet and the particular features of its pronunciation. You will learn how the gender of nouns is shown by the definite and indefinite article (der, die, das / ein, eine). You will look at the personal pronouns in the nominative case and practice the questions "Wer ist das?" and "Was ist das?".
