About this lesson

In this lesson you will revise the Past Simple Tense – the simple past tense in English. You will practise forming regular and irregular verbs, negative forms and questions, as well as using them in different contexts. We work with two authentic texts: a story about a missed plane and the tale of Goldilocks and the three bears. Through a variety of exercises you will consolidate your ability to describe past events and actions in English.

• Form the Past Simple of regular verbs correctly (–ed form).
• Use the irregular verb forms from the lesson (went, saw, heard, got, took, etc.).
• Build negatives with 'didn't' and questions with 'Did...?'.
• Narrate a sequence of past events related to travel.
• Recognise the Past Simple in the context of a story (Goldilocks, the airport).
