You practise the Past Simple in three forms: affirmative, negative and interrogative, including tag questions and questions about individual parts of the sentence.
About this lesson
In this lesson you will consolidate the use of the Past Simple through intensive grammar practice. You will practise turning affirmative sentences into negative ones and vice versa, using the auxiliary verb "did". You will learn how tag questions (short questions such as "didn't you?") are formed and how to ask questions about different parts of the sentence with question words such as who, what, where and when. The lesson also covers the important distinction between questions about the subject (without did) and questions about the other parts of the sentence (with did + infinitive).
