The Spanish representative at this year's Eurovision festival finished in 24th place (second to last). After the unanimous question 'But why?' among all Spanish people who had maintained excellent self-criticism on the eve of the festival and were left with a very poor impression of Europe, they finally understood the reason for the alleged conspiracy of European countries not to vote for Spain. They realized they had scored an own goal, and at precisely the moment when they had a chance to rank among the top five songs. All the votes that Spain should have and could have received were given to Turkish contestant Hadise, who achieved a good position in the European ranking, despite, according to experts, her not-so-good performance on stage. It turned out that behind Soraya's failure was Spanish television—Televisión Española (RTVE). RTVE refused Moscow's request to broadcast the festival semifinals, where Spanish viewers were supposed to vote for the other European countries, claiming they had technical problems. Instead, they broadcast a tennis final featuring a well-known Spanish tennis player. Furthermore, the second semifinal was broadcast indirectly, with a one-hour delay, which prevented Spanish viewers from voting in either semifinal for any country. And so, just as Spain did not vote for Europe, Europe did not vote for Spain. The public channel will be sanctioned for violating its contract with Moscow, and Soraya remains unrewarded for her efforts. Whether she truly deserves 24th place is for you to say.
