Some rules for using days of the week in combination with times of day:
1. Days of the week and times of day are always written together:
der Dienstagmorgen
am Mittwochabend
der Freitagnachmittag
der Sonntagvormittag
2. Times of day in combination with today, (the day) before yesterday, (the day) after tomorrow are always capitalized:
He did not come this morning.
She was drunk the evening before yesterday.
We are going to the cinema the day after tomorrow evening.
We wake up tomorrow early. (in the morning)
We are coming tomorrow at noon.
The exam takes place the day after tomorrow in the morning.
3. When times of day stand without an article and without a preposition, they are used as adverbs and thus are written in lowercase.
He is coming today.
She is going tomorrow.
He always works on Sundays.
We always have gym on Tuesday evenings.
He always washes himself in the mornings.
4. Likewise lowercase:
She does the homework for tomorrow. (the following day is meant)
That is the technology of tomorrow. (the future is meant)
He works until tomorrow. (following day) but: He works until the morning.
He puts him off until tomorrow. (following day) but: He puts him off until the morning. (until the following day)
That is a decision for tomorrow. (future) but: He decides in the morning.
5. Otherwise capitalization applies:
He wakes up towards Morning.
Towards Evening he becomes tired
She works throughout the Evening.
It becomes Evening.
It became Morning.
They want to have dinner.
