Probability in Spanish can be expressed through the following tenses: Futuro simple, Futuro compuesto, Condicional simple, Condicional compuesto.
With each of these tenses the degree of probability is different, and they also refer to different moments in time: present, past, and future.
With Futuro simple you can express probability in the present moment: 'Serán las 10:00h' (It might be 10 o'clock)
With Futuro compuesto you can express probability for the immediate past moment: 'Pedro habrá ido al cine' (Pedro might have gone to the cinema)
With Condicional simple you can express probability for a given past moment: 'Tendría unos veinte años cuando lo conocí.' (When I met him, he might have been about twenty years old)
With Condicional compuesto you can express future and probable action related to a verb in the past tense: 'Dijo que vendría a verme el lunes porque ya habría cogido las vacaciones.' (He said he would come see me on Monday because he would have already taken his vacation).
