Courses

The courses at Kabinata include a regular program with distance lessons with live teachers, history with recordings of past lessons and levels, study materials and written homework assignments that are reviewed by teachers. Lessons are held every day – during the day, in the evening and on weekends.
Kabinata continuously offers 6 language courses. Students have access to lessons in each of them.

Virtual Classroom – Lessons in the courses are held live in Kabinata's virtual classroom. The virtual classroom is an online communication application that is installed once on a computer or phone and then starts automatically each time the student enters a lesson.

In the classroom, teachers teach lessons and answer students' questions. Headphones with a microphone are needed for conversations in the classroom. If desired, each student can also participate as a listener only by pressing a button in the classroom and notifying the teacher.

Virtual classroom interface

Portfolio – each student has credits in their virtual portfolio account. Credits can be used to create additional lessons – in courses or private lessons.

Levels and Progress

Students have access to all levels and teachers. They can follow one or two levels or simply attend lessons of their choice at all levels.

The courses include regular grammar lessons distributed across a total of 7 levels – Absolute Beginners (A1-1), Beginners (A1-2), Intermediate (A2-1, A2-2, B1-1), Advanced (B1-1, B1-2). The levels are divided into two parts, for example A1 is divided into A1-1 and A1-2. Each part is taught for 4 weeks, which is half a level. One full level is taught for 8 weeks or about 2 months. All levels correspond to the European Language Framework >>

Level Determination – The platform has a level determination test, which is taken after registration. The level can also be determined after a consultation with a teacher. Another option is for students to review the study materials and recordings of past lessons, and get oriented about which level they are at, or simply attend a live lesson at some level and assess whether it is suitable for them. If not, the level can be changed to another level with just one click.

Courses for Beginners – the levels for beginners are A1-1, A1-2 and A2-1, with the first one being for absolute beginners. Absolute beginners start with basic things like the alphabet, numbers, colors, days of the week, etc. If there is no recent lesson for absolute beginners in the program, each student can create one with a teacher of their choice or learn with study materials or lesson recordings.

Start Dates for LevelsEnglish – 14.08, Spanish – 21.08, French – 28.08, German – 4.09. Students wait for these start dates only if they are starting from the lowest level A1-1. At the lowest level, lessons start from the alphabet, numbers, colors and other basics. If these concepts are clear, we recommend joining immediately, as there are two constantly running levels for beginners: A1-1 and A1-2.

Regular Lessons: Regular lessons follow the sequence of the curriculum and study materials at the individual levels. In regular lessons, teachers teach the grammar of the respective languages. Students follow regular lessons to progress through the levels and pass levels. The materials taught in these lessons are also published in the 'Study Materials' section on the platform and students can combine lessons with live teachers with self-study with the uploaded study materials.

In addition to grammar lessons, the program includes numerous conversation, practical, review and specialized lessons. All these lessons again have levels, but do not follow the exact sequence of study materials. After each lesson, the teacher uploads the materials used and they are also available for download.

Additional Lessons Created by Students: Each student can create lessons at a time convenient for them and with teachers of their choice. Created lessons can be lessons in courses (open), which are visible to all participants in the course, and private (closed) – visible only to participants selected by the student creating the lesson. When creating a lesson, students can select the lesson level and provide the teacher with additional information about what they want to be taught in the lesson.
Lessons are created with credits found in the student's portfolio.

Creating a lesson is done from the profile of the teacher with whom students want to create a lesson – they visit their profile on the platform and from there select the date, time, duration, level and topic of the lesson. Students can also offer lessons to teachers at a convenient time and the teacher can accept or decline the lesson. The student's portfolio is charged only when a lesson is created (accepted).

Lessons in Courses – lessons created by students appear in the course curriculum in which they are created and can be attended by all students with an active Kabinata subscription. When creating them, the student who creates them can determine the level and type of lesson – conversational or practical.

Private Lessons – the lessons are visible only to the student who created them and are essentially individual lessons. The student has the ability to determine the level, type and topic of the lesson. Private lessons can be shared – the student creator of the lesson can include themselves and other participants, who participate for free and see the lesson in their schedule.

Number of Lessons
Hundreds of live lessons every month in 6 language courses. If you want to study intensively, Kabinata is your place – you can be in a lesson for several hours a day. See the number of lessons for each language here >>

Homework Assignments

Every week, homework assignments are published in the student's profile. The assignments are usually short texts that students need to write on a given topic or topic, appropriate to their level. Each assignment submitted by a student receives a grade, a brief review and guidance from the teachers. Practice your writing skills under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Teachers

Kabinata's teachers go through a rigorous selection process. We have been working long-term with the best teachers who have proven their professionalism by teaching thousands of online lessons.

Experienced teachers

Kabinata's teachers teach online. Headphones with a microphone are needed to speak with a teacher in the classroom. Teachers can teach lessons in the regular program of courses or individual lessons that students create – lessons in the course program or private lessons.

Each teacher has a profile from which students can write to them through the platform to arrange a lesson, as well as to learn about their experience and competencies.
In the schedule of each course, students can use a filter to see the lesson schedule of each teacher for weeks ahead and back.

Kabinata Library

Lesson recordings and study materials – students use these resources when they are not in lessons in the virtual classrooms.

Recordings and History

Every completed lesson remains as a recording on the platform. If a student misses a lesson, you can watch it on recording, along with many other recorded lessons and videos (including different versions of the same lesson, conducted in the past). In the 'History' section, there are uploaded recordings of thousands of past lessons and entire levels at Kabinata. Some of our students learn entirely from lesson recordings and levels.

Over 20 thousand recorded lessons total as of August 2023!

Study Materials
Each course includes study materials distributed by modules at all 7 levels. Study materials are multimedia lessons, video lessons, audio for listening, tests and dictations.
